Ogden police had identified the suspect in Tuesday’s police chase along Route 104 as Craig S. Maddock, 40, of Rochester.
Maddock was arrested after a man called 911 when he came home to find an unfamiliar vehicle parked in his garage, with the man’s television in the vehicle.
Officers responding saw Maddock drive away from the victim’s home. A 20-minute pursuit followed, involving officers from the Ogden Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Brockport Police Department, New York State Police, and Greece Police Department.
During the pursuit, Maddock drove at high speeds, ran stop signs and red lights, and crashed into a citizen’s car. He was taken in to custody after a collision with several police cars on West Ridge Rd in Greece. No one was injured.
Maddock was charged with burglary, grand larceny, criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful fleeing from a police officer, and numerous vehicle and traffic offenses.
Maddock was arraigned in Ogden Town Court and remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bail or $75,000 secured bond.
