The United Professional Barbers and Cosmetologists Association held its second annual Financial Wealth Building Class Monday night.
The free class allows barbers and industry professionals to learn different ways to help improve their quality of life. Attendees also got a chance to speak to a representative from Consumer Credit Counseling Services of Rochester.
UPBCA President, Willie Lightfoot, says the main point of the meeting is to help self-employed individuals.
“What we do is we want to bring together this industry. Advocating for our community, our industry. Educating our industry as well as providing benefits because often times as self-employed individuals we have to provide our own benefits unlike others who work for employers,” said Lightfoot.
