Approximately 10 incoming University of Rochester students devoted their time to outdoor work to benefit Episcopal SeniorLife Communities on Monday.
Students focused on community gardens, raking leaves, and landscape beautification at Beatrice Place.
“This is like a great fantastic opportunity for us to sort of mingle with the people in the city and get to see what the life is like and get involved with a lot of other establishments and give back to the city,” said Muhammad Hadi. “It’s a great way for us to come together as a community as well, both the Rochester community and our immediate University of Rochester community.”
Now in its 29th year, Wilson Day is a proud tradition at the U of R, with faculty, staff and students from the Colleges of Arts, Sciences and Engineering participating.
This year, more than 1,450 volunteers are joining 93 organizations throughout Rochester.
