Two people arrested following Henpeck Park drowning

GREECE, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - Greece Police Chief Phelan announced that two people have been arrested following the drowning of a 6-year-old girl in Greece.

Police found Aliyah Williams' body in the Erie Canal at Henpeck Park shortly after family members reported her missing.

Police identified Williams' supervisors at the time as Laura McCasland, 25, from Texas and Tyler Kanaley, 23, from California. Both were arrested on Saturday for endangering the welfare of a child and drug charges.

During the investigation, police discovered that McCasland and Kanaley had 31 pounds of marijuana in their possession at Williams' grandfather's house where they were staying.

Chief Phelan said that Kanaley is Williams' cousin and McCasland is a friend of Kanaley.

Both are being held in Monroe County Jail.
