Two men are facing charges for stealing a handgun from a vehicle in Livingston County.
Twenty-three-year-old Michael Ely from Palmyra and 21-year-old Bernard O’Grady from Bloomfield are charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of a weapon.
Deputies say the investigation started after the sheriff’s office got a report for a theft of a pistol from a vehicle on Community Drive in Lima.
Investigators say they were able to identify Ely and O’Grady as suspects in the case. They were both arrested last week and were ordered held on bail.
Despite the charges, deputies say the stolen weapon has not been recovered at this time.
