Local News

Early Saturday morning around 2:33, a Gates Police Officer arrested Reuben Harrison, 26, of Rochester.

White the officer was on DWI patrol, he observed a vehicle turn right from Spencerport Road onto Steve Drive and then come to a stop right in the middle of the roadway. A male got out and began urinating in the middle of the roadway.

Harrison was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, Exposure of a Person, and Disorderly Conduct. He refused to take a breath test.

He will appear in Gates Court on March 22.

Around 11:20 Sunday night a Gates Police Officer stopped a vehicle that pulled out of a parking lot on Spencerport Road directly into the path of the Officer’s vehicle.

Police say that the vehicle was being operated by Justin Cioppa, 27, of Rochester.

He was found to be in an intoxicated condition. He was also found to have a suspended drivers license.

Cioppa was arrested for felony Driving While Intoxicated, due to a previous DWI conviction, and felony Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the First Degree.

He took a breath test that showed his BAC was .14%.

Cioppa was also charged with bribery in the third degree after he repeatedly told the arresting Officer that he would send him on a cruise or give him $3000.00 not to show up to court.

He is currently awaiting arraignment in Gates Court.
