Two arrested after man shot in head in Geneva

A man was seriously hurt following a shooting in Geneva on Easter morning.

Now, two men are facing charges in the case.

Officers say they were called to the area of Lewis Street near Genesee Street just before 7 a.m. Sunday morning for the shooting.

Police found 29-year-old Michael Cosentino had been shot several times in the head inside his car. He was rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester where he underwent surgery. He is now in critical condition, officers say.

Following the shooting, Geneva police have arrested Erin Rhynes and Timetheus Merritt, both age 26, are charged in the case.

Rhynes is charged with assault. Merritt is charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting were not disclosed.
