ROCHESTER, NY (WROC) — TSA agents say they found a man brought a loaded handgun to the Greater Rochester International Airport on Tuesday.
The man, who is from Honeoye Falls, was stopped at the checkpoint and questioned after the weapon was found in his carry-on bag. The gun, .45 caliber handgun, was loaded with five bullets, agents said.
It is the first gun to be found at the airport this year. Last year, agents found two handguns that passengers attempted to bring on planes in Rochester.
The TSA warns passengers that its illegal to bring a weapon on a plane. Travelers who try may face criminal charges and fines up to $13,000.
