UPDATE 11/12:

In a post on their Facebook page, the Victor Volunteer Fire Department has reported that around 8:00 p.m. firefighters were dispatched to the New York State Thruway for a tractor trailer that caught on fire after a crash.

According to firefighter, the fire was the related to the vehicle striking the jersey barrier. 

Firefighters say mutual aid was requested from Fishers Volunteer Fire Association, Fishers Professional Firefighters & Drivers IAFF Local 4907, and Farmington Volunteer Fire Association.

According to firefighters, the crash completely blocked the eastbound lanes and the Thruway was closed for over four hours.

Firefighters say one person was transported to the hospital. The extent of his injuries are unknown.

Parts of the New York State Thruway were shut down on Saturday evening due to a tractor-trailer engulfed in flames along I-90 eastbound near Victor. 

Emergency crews were on scene attending to the truck between exits 44 (I-490, Victor) and 45 (Rt. 332, Canandaigua). 

It’s unclear what caused the fire, or if there were any injuries. Drivers report the eastbound lanes were being closed while crews responded.
