Police were called to the scene of a crash involving an 18-wheeler and a box truck early Monday morning that took place on the New York State Thurway.
The crash happened eastbound on I-90 near the Scottsville service area at around 5:30 a.m. Extra manpower had to be called in because of the extreme cold.
Henrietta Fire told us the box truck crashed into the 18-wheeler. A 23-year-old man from Buffalo was pinned inside the cab and left the scene conscious and alert.
Half of the cab was pushed into the victim and he was entangled, according to Henrietta Fire.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured.
One firefighter injured and was hospitalized for a minor injury.
The crash is under investigation by NYS Police.
All lanes are back open on the Thruway.
