Thousands of homes and businesses are still in the dark after high winds ripped through western New York on Wednesday.
As of 9:30 a.m., RG&E reports 14,000 customers are without power in the company’s service area. Most of the outages are in Monroe County where more than 10,000 customers are still in the dark.
National Grid reports an additional 2,200 customers are without power in Monroe County and more than 1,000 are without power in Orleans County.
Right now, it’s still not clear when power may be restored to RG&E customers. According to its website, they are still “accessing” restoration times for most customers.
National Grid expects to restore power in Monroe and Orleans counties by 10 p.m.
