‘The Little Mermaid’ opens at Auditorium Theatre

Local News

The Rochester Broadway Theatre League is preparing for another exciting opening of a new show — “The Little Mermaid.”

News 8’s Allison Warren spoke with Correna Keatley about the production, which is at RBTL Oct. 24-29.

Allison: Talk a little bit about this show. Opening “The Little Mermaid” tonight (Tuesday), here through Sunday. For those who love “The Little Mermaid,” what can they expect?

Correna: You can expect your favorite songs and the stage is magnificent. The costumes are beautiful, the music is beautiful. The coolest thing about this show, you’re going under the sea, right? So you walk in and you feel the ambiance of being under water. The coolest thing about this show is that everything is in the air. So when they’re ‘swimming’ they’re on wires. It’s a cool illusion.

Allison: You’ve done a lot of interesting things for shows before. How has this posed a challenge?

Correna: The major challenge with every show is getting them here from their previous city on time but they’re here and tonight’s going to be amazing.
