The Happy Pirates setting sail at the Strong Museum

Local News

Gary Smith, also known as Gary the Happy Pirate, and Ryan Turco, who is part of the new crew, stops by News 8 to talk about how the Happy Pirates are continuing to make kids smile.

Gary the Happy Pirate has been promoted to admiral and has handed over his ship to a whole new crew.

The new Happy Pirates crew is made up of Captain Gully, the ukulele-playing, fun-loving leader; Scuttle, the prankster; and Sharkbait, the silly crewmate with a big heart.

The three characters are played by Turco, John Barthelmes, and Matthew Roy, who are improvisational artists, stage performers, and friends.

Catch the Happy Pirates on their newest adventure at The Strong Museum on Saturday, April 22 and Sunday, April 23 at 1 and 3 p.m.
