The first-ever AutismUp “Opportunity Awards” were handed out Thursday afternoon at the Floreano Riverside Convention Center.
The awards celebrated the ten year anniversary of Jason, J-Mac, McElwain’s, 20 point game at Athena. They also celebrated Coach Jim Johnson for his retirement and contributions to Autism Awareness.
Roy Firestone from ESPN also joined the event to help bring national attention to the cause.
“We are thrilled to have all three of these celebrities all in one place today, helping to raise AutismUp’s profile in the community and in the country, and also helping to bring light to our cause, which is giving opportunity to people with Autism in our community,” said AutismUp Director of Education and Support, Rachel Rosner.
