What’s In Store for the first week of November?
A new owner is breathing life into a former hopspot for Kodak employees, an update to one of the most anticipated developments in the area, and the latest Wegmans in the area is showing off its new look.
The Dog House
SoccerSam, the founder of Salvatore’s Pizza, is taking over the Dog House bar on West Ridge Road and is planning to turn it into a neighborhood style pub, specializing in gourmet hot dogs.
Sam says several Salvatore’s locations are nearby, so don’t expect to find pizza at the new pub.
He says the opportunity to purchase the location is one he couldn’t pass up.
“It’s just a Rochester landmark,” he says. “It’s been here for almost 30 years. We kind of like saving landmarks intown, and this was one that I thought would be great to preserve and keep it going.”
SoccerSam says he hopes to be able to re-open the Dog House in January.
Further west along Ridge Road in Greece, the steel frame of the long awaited Chick-fil-A restaurant is being constructed.
The project is highly anticipated, as it will be the first location of its kind in the Rochester area.
According to the town, the work on this site is expected to continue in the coming months, with an eye on an early 2018 opening date.
Wegmans on Holt Road
In Webster, Wegmans is getting ready to celebrate the grand “re-opening” of its Holt Road location, just in time for the holidays.
The store’s been under construction in some form or another for the last four years.
Customers will notice an expanded produce, bakery, and prepared foods section, along with a new coffee shop and pizza shop.
Just this week, Wegmans announced the opening if its 95th store in Medford, Massachusetts.
