The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a teen was killed in a crash on Tuesday in the Town of Romulus.

Deputies say a 35-year-old man was driving a box truck northbound on State Route 96 when he left the road and overturned into a ditch.

His passenger, 19-year-old Enos Hertzler, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver was treated at the scene and refused further medical treatment.

First responders were called to the crash around 4:35 p.m.

It is unclear why the vehicle left the roadway.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, however, drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor.

No tickets have been issued at this time.
