Teen enters not guilty plea following arrest in homicide

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) - UPDATE: 

A plea of not guilty was entered on behalf of David Johnson during a court appearance Monday morning.

During the appearance, it was revealed that Johnson needs to obtain a new lawyer, as the public defenders office has a conflict of interest and cannot represent him.

A teen has been charged in connection to a homicide on Lyell Avenue last month. 

17-year-old David Johnson is charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Robbery in the First Degree. 

According to police, he allegedly shot and killed Anthony Lawson multiple times. Investigators have not discovered a connection between Lawson and Johnson. 

Johnson is currently on probation for a prior robbery conviction. He will be arraigned on the new charges on Monday, October 8, 2018.
