Plane lands safely in Rochester after declaring mechanical emergency

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A Rochester bound plane has landed safely after a brief scare Thursday night.

Officials say the plane initially could not extend its flaps, and declared a mechanical emergency.

Shortly after the emergency was called off and the plane was able to land without incident. The 52 people on board were unharmed.

The plane departed from Newark, N.J.
