The two men charged with killing three people in a mass shooting outside the Boys and Girls Club on Genesee Street in August pleaded not guilty to a host of charges today, including the most serious charge, first degree murder.
Johnny Blackshell and Jalen Everett will be tried together next spring. Both appeared in court today and pleaded not guilty to the horrific crimes.
Blackshell and Everett are accused of driving by the Boys and Girls Club two months ago, and opening fire into a crowd. They appeared separately with their attorneys. Neither said anything expect “not guilty” when asked how they answer to the charges.
There are several court appearances for both Blackshell and Everett in the coming months. Their trials are set for May 16, 2016. In the meantime, both men are being held in the Monroe County Jail without bail.
