Suspect in carbon monoxide deaths pleads guilty

Local News

An Orleans County man accused of causing the carbon monoxide deaths of a mother and son has pleaded guilty.  David Wiley Junior was charged with criminally negligent homicide and reckless endangerment, but in a court hearing Monday night, he took a plea deal.  Wiley was the caretaker of the home in Kendall where Joan Gilman and her 14-year-old son Richard lived.  In April 2018, he ran a generator in a closed garage under the victims’ bedroom for 17 hours.  The power was off due to unpaid bills.  Gilman and her son were killed.  Wiley will be sentenced July 1.
