Here’s a look at your Sunrise Smart Start for this Friday, June 1, 2018!

Dozens of downtown residents in Rochester are looking for answers after an overnight fire damaged their apartment building on Capron Street around 1:30 a.m. Investigators say it started in a bar and then spead to the apartments. Thirty-eight people were safely evacuated. Firefighters are focusing on the bar’s kitchen and patio area for a cause.

Irondequoit police are looking for the driver of a grey or silver car with front end damage they believe is connected to a fatal hit and run Sunday on North Goodman Street. Nancy Lopez-Cruz was struck and killed.

Judge Leticia Astacio can no longer buy alcohol after her probation was modified during a court hearing Thursday. The decision came after Astacio attempted to buy alcohol at Marketview Liquor.

Today is the last day to register for this year’s Federal primaries. Democrats will head to the polls to select a candidate in the 25th Congressional District on June 26.

Another warm day with temperatures in the mid-80’s, and the chance of a pop up shower in the afternoon.
