Thousands of students at RIT took advantage of the college’s annual spring Career Fair on Wednesday.
Around 5,000 students typically turn out at the Gordon Field House to speak with recruiters from hundreds of local, national and international companies. Many of the recruiters are actually RIT graduates.
The college also has a long history of co-op education which allows students to take paid positions with companies in Rochester and across the country.
“This is what RIT was founded on,” said Maria Richart, RIT Director of Career Services Office. “The corner stone of the RIT education is our co-op program that makes it very distinctive and we’re one of the oldest universities in the world that actually has co-op built in.”
Major companies like Microsoft frequently attend the career fair. Wegmans is also a very popular employer at the event, year after year.
