Severe Thunderstorm Watch has been dropped for most of the area, with the exception of Yates County.
Summer-like warmth and humidity, combined with a potent larger storm system produced strong to severe storms across the area Sunday afternoon, and pushed east into the evening.
The most widespread severe weather was found east this afternoon. The greatest severe weather threat will be some damaging wind gusts, and hail. Storms will also produce locally heavy rain, so some ponding on roads is possible. Some tornado warnings were posted in central NY and PA, but nothing in our area.
The storms will tend to fade tonight as the sun sets. Then, we will turn cooler and windy on Monday following the passage of a cold front.
