A strong storm that is producing frequent lightning and potentially some hail is moving across Western New York and the Finger Lakes.
Close to an inch has already fallen across some parts of Wyoming County with rainfall rates that are creeping close to an inch or more per hour.
An areal flood advisory is in place for Yates County, and as this system continues to bring heavy rains there will be a threat for some minor flash flooding for creeks and streams through this afternoon and evening.
When thunder roars, head indoors. Also remember to never drive over flooded roadways.It can be extremely difficult or near impossible to judge how deep water really is on a roadway.
