The state has opened a new housing complex along Main Street for low and moderate income households.
The new complex called Warfield Square, which is in Rochester’s EMMA neighborhood (East Main, Mustard Street and Atlantic Avenue), will include 16 homes for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The developer, Home Leasing, re-used a three-story office building and constructed new townhouses for the project.
As part of the project, Hillside Children’s Center will run a cafe in commercial space there that will act as a job training and outreach opportunity.
The state invested $17.2 million to the project.
