It was a big day for Holy Childhood in Rochester Tuesday morning.
The organization, which helps people with developmental disabilities, held its pie pick up day.
Delicious pies are produced by the workers at Special Touch Bakery and then are picked up for the Thanksgiving holiday. This year, the bakery has made more pies during the holiday season than ever before.
“We make terrific pies, it’s kind of an event,” said Joe Perdicho, director of bakery operations. “Folks love to come their getting fresh pies today. and it’s exciting for us. We are up to almost 10,000 thousand pies this year, during this holiday season, which is the largest ever for us.”
Special Touch Bakery has been around for more than 30 years. Proceeds from the bakery benefit Holy Childhood.
