Sodus murder suspect being moved from Texas to Wayne Co.

Local News

The man who deputies say opened fire on Carlton Street in Sodus last month, shooting and killing a young couple, is being moved from Texas back to Wayne County.

Timothy Dean is charged with the murders of Joshua Niles and Amber Washburn.

The Moore County Sheriff says Dean was picked up from their facility in Texas on November 19 and is enroute back to New York, but wouldn’t provide a timeframe due to safety concerns.

Investigators believe Dean shot and killed Niles and Washburn over a custody dispute involving Dean’s wife Charlene Childers and Niles, her former boyfriend.

Friends told News 8 last month that Niles had just received custody of the kids he had with Childers, who now lives in Texas with Dean, just before he was shot and killed.

Childers is charged with conspiracy and criminal possession of a weapon in the case.

A third man, Bron Bohlar, is also facing conspiracy charges in the case for helping Dean.

We’re told both Dean and Bohlar both worked for the Sunray Police Department in Texas.
