Monroe County Deputies are investigating a single car crash that shut down I-590 South near Monroe Avenue on Monday. 

According to deputies, a 37-year-old woman has been taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where she is in critical condition after she had a medical episode while driving. 

Deputies say she passed out at the wheel and hit the guardrail. They said there was also a 12-year-old in the car who was uninjured. 

590 has been reopened and deputies are continuing their investigation.
