Seniors from the Ibero American Action League’s Centro de Oro program gave a special performance Thursday morning titled “Stories of the Soul,” which took place at the Rochester Broadway Theatre League.
Seniors performed personal stories, songs, and memories.
News 8 spoke to the program’s coordinator about how the program has impacted performers.
“The reaction has been in many ways overwhelming, hitting to home issues, of loneliness, or of lost loved ones,” says program coordinator Raquel Serrano. “They’ve been able to just dig deep and put these things in writing through arts and activities.”
The program is funded by ESTA, the Elder Share the Arts.
