Savor the Flavor returns Sunday

Local News

Fairport Rotary will host its annual Savor the Flavor fundraiser Sunday, March 5 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Eagle Vale Golf Club in Fairport.

John Hall of Fairport Rotary and Jim Bilotta of Lyons National Bank, the presenting sponsor of Savor the Flavor, discussed the event Friday on News 8 at Sunrise.

“This is the ninth annual event, and we’re expecting a large crowd,” said Hall. “We’ve expanding the venue to include the two levels at Eagle Vale. So, we’ll be able to accommodate more vendors. We’ll be having 25 wineries from the Finger Lakes, all Finger Lakes wineries, 24 restaurants from the Fairport area, 12 breweries from the Finger Lakes again, and 4 distilleries.”  Hall said there will also be two food trucks at the lower level of the Golf Club.

This will be Lyons National Bank’s second year with Fairport Rotary’s Savor the Flavor.  “When we got involved with this last year, we’re new to the Monroe County area, but we’ve been around for 150 years as a community local bank,” noted Bilotta. “So, we got the opportunity to jump on this, and it’s really a great way to raise money for charity with advertising for local businesses, and really promoting the local restaurants, and breweries, and wineries in the area.”

In addition to the food and drink, there will also be a silent auction. Among the organizations that have been assisted through the years of Savor the Flavor include:

Camp Haccamo & the Rotary Sunshine Campus

Fairport Little League

Challenger Baseball

Perinton Youth Hockey
