Parkour – you may not have heard of it, but it’s a popular activity in Rochester.

We headed over to RocPK on University Avenue. Folks at the facility teach people the basics of parkour.

That includes swinging, jumping, and maintaining your balance. It’s similar to completing an obstacle course.

One of the owners says it all starts with balance and coordination training, and then you add speed – and that’s where you see some incredible stunts.

“That’s the idea with the stuff you see in movies and YouTube viral videos, and people are like, ‘Whoa, that guy is a ninja and a superhero,’” says co-owner Charles Moreland. “It all starts from the ground level and we train people up from there.”

Moreland also says anyone can do parkour. The facility trains people of all ages.
