ERIE, PA. (WROC) — Two people from Rochester are dead following a single car crash in Pennsylvania.

Sharla Davenport, 48, and her aunt Karen Davenport, 67, died when they were ejected from their vehicle on I-79, near Erie, Pennsylvania Sunday night.

State troopers say the driver lost control and rolled the vehicle several times.

Both Sharla and Karen were pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were hospitalized.

Sharla was the secretary to City of Rochester Budget Director Chris Wagner.

City officials released a statement Monday regarding the incident, saying in part:

“Please extend your prayers to Sharla’s family. Sharla was a friend to many of us in city government. She always had a kind word and smile for everyone she met. Sharla will be truly missed.”
