Tuesday, Rochester Regional Health unveiled its new mobile mammography center that is set to start accepting patients in August.
It’s funded through New York State’s “Get Screened, No Excuses” initiative to improve access to breast cancer screening.
The mobile center will provide breast cancer screenings for women over the age of 40 throughout various locations in the Finger Lakes Region.
Inside there’s a 3D mammography which is fully accessible for people with disabilities. Women who use the service will be able to schedule appointments in 15 minute intervals and it’s as simple as as scheduling an appointment through Rochester Regional Health’s Patient Portal.
“We will be removing access barriers — both geography and barriers relating to time to provide these services,” explains Katherine Rogala, Rochester Regional Health.
The Mobile Mammography Center will begin its tour starting in mid-August. For more information on where and when you can catch the bus, you can click here or check below.
