Rochester police sergeant back home after finishing 50-hour run

Local News

Rochester Police Sgt. Brett Sobieraski is back home after a 50-hour run from Buffalo to just west of Syracuse.

The personal fundraiser for the Special Olympics wrapped up Sunday. Monday, we caught up with Sgt. Sobieraski who says it wasn’t as easy as he thought it would be.

“It challenged me,” says the sergeant. “I was hanging by a thread almost the whole time.”

He adds, “The low points were some fatigue and soreness in my feet from blisters but what really kept me going was the Special Olympians — man this was for them.”

Sgt. Sobieraski tells us he raised more than $10,000 for the organization.
