The City of Rochester has announced details of the 2017 Rochester MusicFest, formally known as SummerFest.
The two-day event will kick off on Friday, July 14 with Bobby Rush, Nellie “Tiger” Travis, Pokey Bear and other local favorites.
The show continues on Saturday, July 15 with headliners Bobby Brown, After Seven, and Arrested Development.
MusicFest will also make its return to Genesee Valley Park this year.
“People associated it with a large, family kind of activity and it became extremely popular,” said Loretta Scott, City Council President. “So when it left, you know, it went to a stadium, which was okay. It wasn’t like the real thing which was at the Genesee Valley Park. So people are really, really, excited and happy about that.”
Gates will open at 5 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday.
