Rochester man wanted in Tuesday’s Amber Alert facing charges unrelated to alert

Local News

The man wanted in an Amber Alert issued Tuesday, after his one-year-old daughter was reported missing in Rochester, is now facing charges unrelated to the case.

Terrence Williams is facing two charges related to his status as a sex offender: One charge of failing to mail a verification form and another for failing to report an address change.

Terrence Williams was listed as the wanted man in the Amber Alert issued by Rochester police Tuesday afternoon for his daughter Ta’Niyah Williams.

Police now say the alert was issued because of concerns that Williams may be suicidal. However, hours later, the child was returned to her mother, safe and sound.

Terrence Williams was arrested Wednesday morning and taken for mental health treatment.

Again, police say Ta’Niyah Williams was found safe and is in the custody of her mother.
