The Lilac Festival hosted its 40th annual Lilac 5 and 10k runs on Sunday morning on the final day of the festival. Thousands of participants got to run around all of Highland Park.
Funds raised from the run were donated to The Willow Center.
On Sunday, temperatures were in the 70s in the morning and race coordinators took that into consideration when making sure runners stayed hydrated.
“We want to make sure that everyone stays hydrated, so we have a couple of water stops along the course,” race organizer Dan Medved said. “We have police on the course, both from Rochester and from the Town of Brighton, and we have EMTs on site, as well.”
