Rochester fourth grader helps kids without a home celebrate their birthday

When a family is combating homelessness, usually they don’t have the time or the means to provide a birthday for their children.

But a fourth grader at Seton Catholic School in Rochester is helping to take the pressure off and allow their children to experience a birthday during that difficult time.

Ten-year-old Nina DiMarco is something else: Her adorable personality and giving spirit is certainly noticeable to those she interacts with.

So, it didn’t come as a surprise when she wanted to shine hope onto those who have fallen on hard times. Nina participates in Volunteers of America’s “Brightening Birthdays” program – a birthday celebration program that helps homeless children and their families during a time of need. The simplest items we often take for granted is helping to make their birthdays a lot better.
