A Rochester father faces charges for the death of a nine-month-old baby in Rochester in January.
Officers say the child, Arabella, was found by first responders on the morning of New Year’s Day unresponsive after a 911 call at a Culver Road home. The baby was transported to the University of Rochester Medical Center where she was pronounced dead two days later.
An investigation by the Medical Examiner’s Office released in August found the baby died from blunt force trauma. As the result of a long investigation, police say they have arrested Arabella’s father, Charlie Richmond, and charged him with manslaughter.
Richmond was arrested in Newark with help from the U.S. Marshals Task Force.
Police say additional charges are pending the result of a grand jury hearing.
