Rochester dealt with downed power lines Sunday night

Heavy rain and wind toppled power lines and knocked out electricity for some overnight Sunday.
    It also put firefighters in a tricky situation.
This was the scene on Norwood Street in Rochester around 11:30.
    Firefighters were called there when a tree fell into a house pulling down wires and shorting out power along the way.
    Crews on scene tell us the electrical wiring in the walls of the home got red-hot and started sparking fires.
    A firefighter had to use his helmet, which is made of plastic, to shut off the main breaker in the home.
    Three people who live there were able to escape.
    Firefighters expected to find significant damage inside the walls but had to wait for r g & and e crews to arrive before they could assess the damage.
