Rochester City Council votes in favor of Police Accountability Board

Local News

On Tuesday, Rochester City Council voted in favor of creating a Police Accountability Board.

It will likely face a court challenge before it goes to voters in November.

The proposal would give the board the power to investigate claims of police misconduct. The next step is for voters to determine whether the accountability board will be allowed to make disciplinary decisions as well.

The police union is likely to challenge that before it goes to the polls.
