Local News

The Rochester City Ballet is mourning the loss of a dance instructor.

The ballet writes in a Facebook post that Christopher Morrison has passed away.

The organization says, “The dance world lost an amazing teacher, dancer, and friend yesterday… He shared his love of life and dance with so many students, including our Company Dancers Christopher Collins, Caitlin Schwartz, Megan Kamler, & Shannon Rodriguez.”

Christopher Morrison taught modern dance at the Draper Center for Dance Education for years, the ballet adds. “He will always be remembered for his positive light, devotion to dance, and infectious smile. Gone but never forgotten, we will miss you Chris.”
