Even though they were on break, middle school students were eager to learn at RIT on Wednesday.
Nearly fifty students filled the labs at RIT as part of National Engineers Week. Students learned about 3D printing and making batteries. They also got the chance to visit labs and the machine shop at the College of Engineering.
“We just want to peak their interest and get them interested in possibly an engineering education, or possibly an engineering career,” explains Dr. Vanessa Mitchell, Director of the ECCO Center. “And just let them have touches of various aspects around the college.”
Engineering Week continues at RIT Thursday with an AI and robotics panel, as well as a virtual reality simulation.
