Restaurants are preparing for one of the busiest days of the year, Valentine’s Day.
“The entire week of valentines day we’re going to be running a few specials,” said Shane Marcotte, sous-chef at The Revelry. The restaurant changes their menu entirely for the holiday.
“We do a lot of tables that are only two people, so we like to consider ourselves a great spot to bring a date,” said Marcotte.
Perlo’s Restaurant in East Rochester was just renovated and the chefs are already prepping for a big weekend and holiday.
“I’ll be pretty equal, right now we’re looking at Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday,” said Donna Perlo, owner of Perlo’s.
Over at Buta Pub, they are taking Valentine’s Day to a whole new level.
” To be honest, it all started as a joke,” said general manager Evan Pierce. They have created a Galentine’s Day set for Monday the 13th. It was a knock off of the famous comedy “Parks and Rec”.
“Galentine’s Day is a day of ladies celebrating ladies,” said Pierce. This is also an unusual event for the pub. “We try to be very inclusive with most of our events. This one is specific to the female audience”
The menu will feature mostly snacks, but the cocktails will be geared toward the holiday.
“I haven’t quite came up with the name of it yet, but it’s purple,” said Kourtney Wenke, bar manager at Buta Pub. “It’s got butterfly pt with Saint Germane and lemon juice and champagne so it’s fun and bubbly and I’m floating gummy bears on top of it.”
If you’re looking for a quick option, McDonalds in Canandaigua is taking reservations for a Valentine’s Day meal. It is $20 for a sit down meal from 5-7 p.m. and some of the proceeds go to the Ronald McDonald house.
