As of Noon, Rochester International Airport reports an incredible 2.39 inches of rainfall breaking the record for the date originally set in 1976.
The culprit for today’s drenching deluge came courtesy of the tropical remnants of what was once Nate.
Flooding issues have developed on local creeks and streams as a result of so much rain falling in such a short period of time. The National Weather Service has an areal flood warning up for eastern Monroe County until 11:45 p.m. Towns along the Irondequoit Creek and the surrounding low lying terrain will be most susceptible to the water that was rapidly rising along the creek as of midday.
