The Public Relations Society in Rochester hosted its 5th annual Apprentice Program on Saturday at Dixon Schwabl in Victor.

The event was held for college students to plan a public relations campaign to support work on a new pilot program out of Rochester in partnership with the DA’s office and Huther Doyle.

The judges included: Sandra Doorley, Kim Ackerman, Huther Doyle, and Lauren Dixon.
Students got to pitch to the judges and the winning team’s campaign will be used in the launch of the program that redirects people arrested for drug-related crimes to health services in the Rochester community rather than going to jail or being prosecuted.

At the event more than 20 public relations students helped increase awareness of the ongoing heroin epidemic in our nation.
