Police say there is no reason for concern after the report of a threat at Greece Odyssey on Friday.

Officers say there is no immediate danger to students or staff and school is going on as normal. Police are on scene investigating the incident. We’re told school will dismiss at its normal time.

Officers didn’t disclose further information about the threat or if anyone has been taken into custody.

School statement

This morning, we were made aware of a possible threat of violence at Odyssey Academy. District security personnel began an immediate investigation and contacted Greece Police.

Because this is still an active police investigation, the school district is limited in what information we can share. We can tell you that the students believed to be involved have been identified by police and are cooperating with the investigation.

Information about this threat came to light because students came forward. We cannot overstate the importance of “see something, say something”.

Out of an abundance of caution, the Greece Police Department has agreed to have an officer at every secondary school when classes resume on Tuesday. We will continue to collaborate with the Greece

Police in many ways throughout the school year in an effort to keep our schools safe.
