Teen injured in shooting on Rochester’s west side

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — A teenager was hospitalized Tuesday after a shooting on Rochester’s west side.

Officers responded to the area of Jay Street, between Orchard Street and Saxton Street, around 1:30 p.m. They found a 17-year-old who had been shot at least once in his upper body.

He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. Police said his injuries were not life threatening.

No suspects are in custody. Police are asking anyone with information to call 911.
