Rochester Police say Emerson Street was closed off for several hours Friday night, while they investigated a possible armed robbery.
Police responded to the area near Dewey Avenue around 3 p.m. for reports of the robbery.
They say they received credible information that the suspect was inside a home there, and armed with a gun. Upon further investigation, the home in question was found to be empty.
Police say no one is in custody and an investigation is ongoing.
Police have blocked off part of Emerson Street as part of an investigation on Rochester’s west side, closing the road.
Multiple squad cars have been seen on Emerson near Dewey Avenue.
