UPDATE: The Rochester Police Department says that Melvin White, 36, is the victim that was shot on Central Avenue early Monday morning.
ORIGINAL: A 36-year-old man is dead after a shooting on Central Avenue early this morning.
According to police, they responded to 283 Central Avenue shortly after 1:30 a.m. for the report of a shooting.
Once on scene, they found a man with gunshot wounds to his upper body. The victim was transported to Strong Memorial where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. He has not been identified.
The investigation is ongoing and there are no suspects in custody at this time.
